We are thrilled to announce the release of Netmaker v1.7.0! This update brings a massive leap forward for our users across the spectrum.

For All Users: You’re about to experience way better connectivity, even in the toughest environments.

For Managed Service Providers (MSPs): Multi-tenancy is here to make managing your clients a lot easier.

For Security Teams: MDM and EDR integrations are here to ensure compliance.

Here is a dive into what’s new in this release.

🔌 TCP Proxy & WSS Uplink

WireGuard's UDP-based architecture is incredibly fast, but highly restrictive corporate firewalls or public Wi-Fi networks sometimes block UDP traffic entirely. Netmaker 1.7 solves this by introducing a TCP Proxy and WSS (WebSocket Secure) Uplink.

  • Bypass Restrictive Networks: Gateways can now publish a TCP/WSS uplink. If a client finds itself in an environment where UDP is blocked, it can opt into the TCP uplink to securely reach the mesh.
  • Flexible TLS: The TCP proxy supports both self-signed and externally terminated TLS modes for WSS endpoints.
  • Easy Configuration: Enable the TCP proxy directly on your gateway or host using tcp_proxy_enabled and its related listen/TLS settings.

🏢 Multi-Tenancy for MSPs

For MSP’s, managing customer accounts just got infinitely easier. Netmaker now natively supports running multiple, completely isolated customer environments from a single Netmaker server.

  • Organizations & Tenants: You can now group customers under overarching Organizations. Within those organizations, each Tenant acts as its own strictly isolated Netmaker environment, complete with its own networks, devices, and users.
  • MSP License Sync: Your Netmaker server will automatically sync with your MSP license, allowing you to manage multiple tenants under a single license.
  • Scoped Access via CLI & API: We've updated nmctl and the REST API to support scoped access, so that you can target commands to specific environments  using the new nmctl organization list and nmctl tenant list commands.

🛡️ EDR Integration (Pro)

Zero Trust requires knowing that the devices connecting to your network are safe. Netmaker v1.7.0 introduces native integrations with industry-leading Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) platforms to power advanced device posture checks.

  • Supported Providers: Microsoft Defender, CrowdStrike, SentinelOne, and Wazuh.
  • Dynamic Posture Evaluation: Netmaker automatically syncs with your EDR to evaluate agent health and device risk levels before granting network access.
  • API Managed: Configure, test, and manage your EDR integrations via the REST API.

📱 MDM Integration (Pro)

Alongside EDR, managing device compliance through Mobile Device Management (MDM) is critical for enterprise fleets. You can now enforce MDM enrollment and compliance checks right alongside your existing Netmaker posture policies.

  • Supported Providers: Microsoft Intune, Jamf, JumpCloud, and Iru.
  • Flexible Device Matching: Netmaker intelligently matches devices across platforms using device IDs, serial numbers, hardware UUIDs, or hostnames.
  • API Managed: Configure and manage your MDM integrations via the REST API.

Conclusion

Netmaker v1.7.0 significantly enhances our platform and drives our mission to be the most flexible and secure virtual networking platform available. By delivering native Multi-Tenancy for MSPs, robust connectivity improvements via TCP and WSS uplinks, and enterprise-grade EDR and MDM integrations, we are empowering organizations to scale their infrastructure without compromising on security or performance.

There has never been a better time to optimize your network architecture. We encourage all users to upgrade to Netmaker 1.7 today to take advantage of these powerful new capabilities and ensure your fleet remains compliant and connected, regardless of the environment.
