Frogslayer Case Study

How a Hospitality Technology Provider Reduced Remote Access Costs and Improved Operations with Netmaker
Kiosks have become an integral part of the in-house experience across the hospitality industry.

It could be a large display to help you find things at the mall, or a small device on your dining table to help you order. Regardless, from hotels to restaurants to convention centres, customers are interacting more and more with these seemingly simple touchscreens.

But behind them goes an immense amount of work to ensure that customers have the best possible experience. It's not just the technical design, it's the business design, engineered to ensure optimal engagement and outcomes for customers and businesses alike.
About Frogslayer
Hospitality brands across the world trust Frogslayer to help guests stay engaged, run their operations better, and improve performance metrics across locations.

Frogslayer has provided solutions to complex tech and systems challenges for over 20 years, creating growth across organizations by driving integration between their systems, data, and experiences.

In particular, Frogslayer specializes in improving outcomes in guest experiences at hospitality companies via their kiosk systems, working with them at all levels, including marketing, operations, and technical solutions.
The Challenge
Frogslayer's clients operate these systems at the edge. Frogslayer works with both the physical systems and the data they collect, in order to create valuable solutions to business problems.

In order to achieve this, they need access to customer systems and customer data. They also need secure access to their own internal development environments, to work on solving these problems.

This access must be secure and efficient, and allow them to work with many clients simultaneously while ensuring a strict separation of data. They needed a solution that was easy to implement, so that no time was lost onboarding new clients.

Frogslayer previously relied on Viatrix for remote access to client systems.
"Viatrix required constant updates and patches, which caused a lot of headaches and manual work, which slowed us down. Not just that, but it was expensive. Their pricing model just didn't fit us. We needed our whole development team on the system, and even though only some of us were using it at a given time, we were paying for every seat."

That's why they decided to look into alternatives.
The Solution: Netmaker
Brian Cahill is Head of IT at Frogslayer, in charge of all backend systems, workstation software for developers, and hosting for client software and SaaS solutions. He manages the security across all of these domains, and the remote access necessary to work with them.
"We were initially interested in Netmaker because they had usage-based pricing, rather than per-seat. This would allow us to have our whole team onboard, while only paying for what we actually use."
But the more they started using it, the more benefits they saw.
"Netmaker was very scalable and easy to set up. It made establishing access to remote environments a breeze. We love how Netmaker handles identity and login, and most importantly, that it just works. Once it's deployed, we don't have to touch or think about anything."
Now, Frogslayer uses Netmaker for both client system access and for internal development work. They have it set up so that their developers have the same work experience whether they're remote or in the office.
Results & Benefits
Frogslayer was initially delighted with the changes to their remote access system costs.
"Netmaker has brought down our remote access costs significantly. The usage-based system is easily monitorable, and we can see how the costs change based on how much we're using it."
After that, they started noticing how Netmaker was providing benefits to both their own organization, and to their clients.
"Netmaker simplified our work and enabled us to be more productive. On top of that, it provided a better user experience for both our employees and our customers, improving satisfaction across the board. Netmaker made it easy for customers to grant us access to their systems while remaining secure."
With Netmaker at hand, Frogslayer has improved their operations and increased satisfaction, all at a cost that works for them.
The Final Word
"At Frogslayer, we use Netmaker for access to internal and customer infrastructure. Netmaker is flexible enough to solve different networking problems simultaneously. It just works, and the price is reasonable. We’ve added our entire team, and only pay for what we use."
